New transformation plant for Blackrock
On December 9, BlackRock Metals Inc. announced the results of the feasibility study conducted for a new transformation plant to be built as part of a total project investment of close to $1 billion, including the Chibougamau mine. The new plant will produce high-quality pig iron and ferrovanadium steel additives from its Vanadium-Titanium-Magnetite (VTM) ore concentrate. The concentrate will be produced at the Chibougamau mine site and transported by rail to the transformation plant at Port de Grande-Anse in the city of Saguenay.
